Why Smart Strength 2.0 Gym Edition?

Now, I may be a bit biased, but I think STRENGTH-BASED GOALS FOR WOMEN ARE AMAZING. First and foremost, it gives us something to focus on…other than our weight. With tangible strength goals, we are able to focus on the things our body can DO, rather than obsessing on appearance. In fact for the past 8 years I have intentionally trained my clients in a studio without the distraction of mirrors. I have found it much more effective to develop body awareness and truly learn to “feel” the movements while the positive physical changes evolve over time (with appropriate nutrition of course).

What Does Smart Strength 2.0 Involve?

Smart Strength 2.0 Gym Edition uses a variety of basic equipment and methods in order to help women achieve FUN, ATTAINABLE goals. If you like going to the gym with a plan, and are crunched for time Smart Strength 2.0 will work for you. My 10 Week Smart Strength 2.0 Gym Edition has been SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED to be done at the gym, or a sweet home gym. You don’t need crazy machines or technology in order to actively advance towards a strength goal!

Your goals will depend upon several variables. In my professional experience, I believe there are several integral components that together combine to create a successful female strength training program:

  1. 3 total body lifting days. Monday/ Wednesday /Friday or Tuesday/ Thursday /Saturday sound like great options to me!
  2. I am all about the minimum effective dosage and 35min-1 hr per session is all you need.
  3. Workouts comprised of multi-joint compound movements that give you the most bang for your buck. We want that metabolism revving!
  4. Lifting weights that are actually challenging with correct form. You will learn to select the appropriate levels of resistance: able to complete 8 repetitions successfully but not more than 12 with ease. You need to work HARD and SMART or you aren’t actually doing the program justice.

Less is more

Smart Strength is about working out as few times per week as possible — or at least the fewest times you can while still seeing the results you want. Plenty of women have routines that involve running six days a week, or hitting the gym five mornings before work.

But what happens when life gets in the way? When you get a new job, and your commute gets longer? Or when you have a kid? Or get hurt? Those five or six days a week you need to maintain slowly drop down to four or two or none.

About Stacey Schaedler StrengthAfter 15 years in the fitness industry, I now run my own semi-private personal training business within the largest yoga studio in Boston. I am an ACSM Certified Personal Trainer, hold my Russian Kettlebell Certification, and am also a Registered Yoga Teacher through the National Yoga Alliance. For over a decade, I have helped thousands of women achieve their fitness and health goals. I focus on strength training with a strong emphasis on postural integrity and alignment. This, paired with solid nutritional education, create the foundation for my clients’ success. Not only do my clients learn to move properly, gain strength, and eliminate pain, they learn to listen to their bodies. Because of my diverse experiences as a collegiate athlete, professional figure competitor, and avid yogi, I am able to help others attain their fitness and nutrition goals.
